The Devonshire Fell welcomes guests with disabilities and has developed an Access Statement to address some of the questions disabled guests may ask.
The Devonshire Fell does not have a lift to the bedroom floors and therefore it is not equipped to accommodate guests who are wheelchair users, however it does welcome day visitors who are wheelchair bound. There is level access from the top of the car parking area and all of the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. There is a disabled cloakroom facility for wheelchair and walking frame users.
Staff recognise that guests may have a hidden disability and the difficulties that guests who are hearing impaired, blind, have learning disabilities or speech impairment may face.
Reservations staff are knowledgeable about the facilities within the hotel, wheelchair access points, suitability of the bedrooms for partially disabled and are able to advise on appropriateness for a particular guest’s needs, handling sensitive issues with empathy.
Restaurant staff will help with menu choice, read the menu and explain the produce to help those guests who are either unable to read or have dietary requirements. Both restaurant and kitchen staff are fully trained with regard to food allergies and the risks involved.
