The Devonshire Fell is situated on the edge of the Duke of Devonshire's 30,000 acre Bolton Abbey Estate in the Yorkshire Dales - one of the most beautiful unspoilt and unexploited parts of England. From picturesque little villages to breathtaking limestone gorges, the scenery alone is enough to keep most visitors to the area fully occupied.
There are ruined abbeys, historic castles and stately homes all just waiting to be explored. The hotel is also arguably the most dog friendly hotel in Yorkshire; just as well as this has to be some of the best dog walking country in the UK.
If retail therapy is your preference Harrogate and Leeds are both nearby. There's a superb choice of antique shops, art galleries, interior designers, individual boutiques, kitchen and home stores in Harrogate whilst Leeds is home to the big name designer shops ranging from Harvey Nichols to Vivienne Westwood.
